Papendal is beautifully located in a forested area. And the city of Arnhem is just around the corner. Only 7 kilometres away. It is easy to reach and only a 10-minute bus ride. Since 2010, there is a direct bus route between Central Station Arnhem and Olympic Training Centre Papendal. To make travelling back and forth easier for elite athletes, students and visitors. This bus route number 10 runs twice an hour on weekdays. You can catch a bus every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday to come to us. Bus route number 105 also stops near the entrance of the training centre. We attach great importance to the accessibility of Papendal. Connexxion/Breng helps us to improve this.

There are also elite athletes who come to Papendal by car. It is convenient for them that the property is located near the major access routes. Utrecht is easily accessible via the A12 motorway and the A50 gives you quick access to Apeldoorn or the south of the Netherlands.

Many junior TeamNL athletes are still in secondary school. We cooperate with the elite sports talent schools VMBO ‘t Venster and the Beekdal Lyceum, on the eastern part of Arnhem. The talents who travel to school by public transport, must transfer at Central Station Arnhem. This takes up a lot of time. Time which an elite athlete does not have. Since most elite athletes train twice a day. Thus time in between must be utilised to its full potential. Only then, elite athletes can follow a sufficient number of courses.
Therefore, a special bus route was set up in 2016. This bus route take the TeamNL athletes directly to school. Or to Papendal. Bus route number 78 operates during peak moments; halfway during the mornings in the direction of the schools and halfway during the afternoons in the direction of Papendal. A Breng Vrij season ticket provides talents with unlimited travel on this bus route. Just like on all other Breng bus routes in the Arnhem-Nijmegen area.
